Excellent response to my recent breakdown in Perth. Prompt, efficient - did exactly what it said on the tin?

Excellent communication throughout, quick call out time. Car was recovered without having to wait for a second truck after assessment of the vehicle was done. Much better and quicker than other breakdown companies used.

Recently upgraded from reclaim to Extra, via phone. Call was answered promptly (which is in itself a rarity these days). Spoke with Alison, who guided me through the process. She cancelled existing policy and activated the new. She later emailed and informed every thing was completed. Very courteous and pleasant. I have not had to use breakdown assist (touch wood) but I'm sure it would be as efficient. The service offered is total value for money. Have recommended GEM to my associates.

Two years ago I broke down on a main road, the recovery firm I was with told me "between twenty and sixty minutes",I reminded them that I was 82 and disabled, ninety minutes later they called back and said"he's on his way", I admit that my language was more colourful than their name, four and a half hours later a mechanic friend happened by and towed me to his garage.
I never received an apology but two days later I did receive a renewal form, had it been on softer paper I would have had a use for it.
I joined Gem.
In my second year I had need to call them out, thirty minutes later a mechanic was working on my vehicle, to me, that's class, thank you Gem.
(I think it was in November but as I can't remember what I had for breakfast, I can't be sure, sorry.)

After being a member of certain famous recovery companies and being totally unsatisfied ( on the odd occasions I needed help), with their services I was recommended to join GEM- the best thing I, and my family, have ever done!
The call centre i contacted were helpful and the service provided ( on 3 occasions) was the best ever.
I have been a member for a long time now but only needed help recently.
i better not name the other providers that preceded GEM but they were all rubbish and didn't listen!!
The recovery company GEM used was Macadams who were great as well.
Totally recommend GEM- the very best in every way.
I cannot understand any negative reviews as, on all occasions, they have been more than helpful.

The operator that took my call was very polite, listened to my problem and resolved it very quickly. The breakdown truck arrived promptly and within 15 minutes I was back on the road

Only had to use GEM Breakdown twice in two years and both times response was quick and the matter rectified on the spot despite being fairly weird problems.

Cheaper than my previous breakdown insurer and giving me cover on my classic car, it was quick and easy to identify the cover that suited my family best and to pay.

Having cancelled my membership of 1 of the 2 largest recovery organisations in the UK and signing up for Gem Motor Assist the very same day, I used their recovery service today. The excellent recovery mechanic arrived in 20 minutes and restarted my car in 5! I was very pleased with their speed, efficiency and very personable approach. Membership of Gem is also a lot cheaper than that of my erstwhile organisation.

Car stuck in first gear. Mechanic who came out towed the car and it released the stuck gear lever and clutch. It's been fine ever since. Had been through a small flood the previous day.

When the gearbox gave out on our automatic car, my wife was stranded a few yards from our drive on a busy main road with no means of locomotion. She used the app to contact Gem and the recovery truck arrived in approx. 2 1/2 hours, but could not tow the car up our steep and restricted driveway, so the driver managed to persuade our car into reverse and up the drive in spite of the horrendous noise. A week later, a recovery truck took the car to our repairer and dropped it off, although there were difficulties getting our car aboard. All the people involved were cheery, good-humoured and helpful and no extra charges were made, making a difficult situation almost bearable for us. The lost star was because of the 2 1/2 hour wait, but we do understand the time pressures on people.

Had a breakdown, and was so easy to report. And the recovery of my car was attended within 20mins. I was also phoned by GEM to make sure everything was being handled ok. I would highly recommend GEM to anyone.

Prompt response on the phone with a delightful lady.
Very helpful and arranged for assistance within 2hrs (I stated not urgent). Mechanic came, assessed the situation, did some diagnostic tests and gave advice and reassurance.
Very pleased with my first use of GEM assist.
